This summer I recorded Michael Vincent Waller’s Arbitrage II for solo clarinet, a piece he wrote for me that I paired up with Stockhausen’s Ein Vöglein singt an Deinem Fenster from Amour when I premiered it in 2013. Arbitrage II is a difficult little melody, but quite beautiful. Also on the record is Red Desert’s live recording of Arbitrage for Bass Clarinet & Gongs from our show at Spectrum in NYC. Those were some lovely gongs. XI Records is Phill Niblock’s label for Experimental Intermedia.
